In the mood for more TikTok viral hits? Here’s a post all about that “Number one Victory Royale” song.
PS: You can also find our roundup of the top Bridgerton quotes here.
A Brief History of Bridgerton the Musical
The whole idea really began to take off less than a week ago when songwriter Abigail Barlow (@abigailbarlowww) posted this TikTok asking “Ok, but what if Bridgerton was a musical?” followed by the most heavenly rendition of her original “Daphne’s Song”, AKA Ocean Apart.
… A hit idea was born, and even Netflix approves (as evidenced by this Tweet where they shared one of Abigail’s songs, a duet with @nick_t_daly.
And while the concept is still less than a week old, it has taken the TikTok world by storm, with #BridgertonTheMusical amassing over 11 million views in that short time.
Over the past few days, Abigail has been posting new songs, and according to this TikTok, she has even recruited her writing partner Emily Bear (@emilythebear) to help.
A few days ago, Emily produced a more polished version of “Ocean Away”, which Abigail shared here. (It’s stunning!)
The latest update was two days ago in this TikTok, when Abigail said that she would continue to work on ‘Bridgerton the Musical’ and write something new everyday.
Meanwhile, the TikTok community is actively getting invested and involved… For example:
- Playbills like this one by @yeatasmini, this one by @somedaysangeline and this one by @tmb_23 are being designed
- @jessierosso has gotten started on the score here
- @brandon_powers has started on choreography here, as has @elchoreography here
- There’s even a new account called @bridgertonmusical that reposts all the best updates and videos related to the project
- @starryjava has started on set design here
Finally, our prayers were answered on Feb 19, when Abigail announced via a TikTok that demos ft. full versions of songs from Bridgerton the Musical were now available on her and Emily’s new website here.
What is Next for Bridgerton the Musical?
For now, Abigail has said (in this TikTok) that Bridgerton the Musical would likely become a concept album, and potentially a pitch for when theatres open.
We’ll update this when we learn more though… after all, we saw the wild success of Ratatouille the Musical, which got its own star studded performance that raised over 2 million dollars for charity, so who knows what could happen?
Songs from the TikTok Bridgerton Musical (with Lyrics!)
Several epic songs have already been produced for Bridgerton’s TikTok musical. Here are the ones that have been written so far by Abigail Barlow and her writing partner, Emily Bear.
PS: You can also check out this account here which posts snippets from Abigail and Emily’s Lives. They often post new music on there before publishing full TikToks so it’s worth giving that account a snoop as well!
Ocean Away (originally called Daphne’s Song)
From what we can tell, this was the first Bridgerton the Musical original song to be posted (by @abigailbarlowww anyway). You can listen to the first part of the song here.
A second part from Simon’s POV was published a few days later, which you can listen to here.
And finally, a full demo version can be accessed here.

If you want to sing along, here are the lyrics from the first part of the song posted on TikTok here.
Daphne:
What a beautiful party,
I’m looking up at the ceiling a lot.
The chandelier is so sparkly…
You never said sorry
Guess you forgot or
Maybe you’re not sorry at all
But a beautiful evening
I want to know just what the hell are you drinking?
Stoic, emotionless, over us all so… quickly
What am I missing?
I can’t even drink champagne.
No, without seeing your face…
Am I the one to blame?
When we’re dancing in the same room, but you’re an ocean away.
Here are the lyrics from Simon’s POV, which you can listen to here.
Simon:
What a terrible soirée
With terrible people pretending they’re happy
In this masquerade
We go through the motions
When all that we wish is escape
From the choices we make
And I see her smiling
How can she be smiling?
There’s been no reconciling
And when she’s at my focus
She won’t even notice my gaze
How can she be okay?
Both:
When I can’t even drink champagne
Without seeing your face
Am I the one to blame?
When we’re dancing in the same room
Bu you’re an ocean away
And lastly, here are the lyrics as transcribed from the full version of the song on the Barlow & Bear website here.
Daphne:
What a beautiful party,
I’m looking up at the ceiling a lot.
The chandelier is so sparkly…
You never said sorry
Guess you forgot or
Maybe you’re not sorry at all
But a beautiful evening
I want to know just what the hell are you thinking?
Oh so stoic, emotionless, over us all so… quickly
What am I missing?
I can’t even drink champagne.
No, without seeing your face…
Am I the one to blame?
When we’re dancing in the same room, but you’re an ocean away.
Simon:
What a terrible soirée

In this masquerade
We go through the motions
When all that we wish is escape
From the choices we make
And I see her smiling
How can she be smiling?
There’s been no reconciling
And when she’s at my focus
She won’t even notice my gaze
How can she be okay?
Both:
When I can’t even drink champagne
No
Without seeing your face
Am I the one to blame?
When we’re dancing in the same room
But you’re an ocean away
Forget the ache of yesterday and why don’t we go dancing in the rain
You think that I should change
But nothing in the world could sway my way
I can’t even drink champagne
Dancing in the same room
But you’re an ocean away
You’re an ocean away
I can’t even drink
I can’t even drink champagne
Without hearing your name
Am I the one to blame?
Burn for You
Referencing one of the most iconic lines from the series, “Burn for You” was the second Bridgerton the Musical song posted by Abigail.

Daphne:
If this is what you call a honeymoon
Pacing round our separate rooms
Running from our elaborate ruse
We’re doomed
Please forgive me, Your Grace…
Can’t even look me in the face
And now I must lie in the mess you made!
Simon:
The mess we made…
Daphne:
It was your mistake
You kissed me in the maze!
Simon:
I was prepared to take my life that day!
Daphne:
I stole your fate…
Simon:
I stole your fate…
Daphne:
I stole your fate…
Simon:
No, I stole your fate…
Daphne (spoken):
I don’t understand.
Simon:
And now you’re forced to love a man you hate…
Daphne (spoken):
Simon….
Simon:
I know you don’t feel the same…
But I burn for you.
Daphne:
You burn for me?
Simon:
I burn…
Daphne:
I burn…
Simon:
I burn!
Daphne:
I burn…
Both:

[Instrumental]
Simon (spoken):
How do you feel?
Daphne (spoken):
I feel wonderful
Simon:
From the mornings you ease
To the evenings you quiet
I’m always thinking of you
Daphne:
I’m always dreaming of you
From the mornings to late in the night
It is you I cannot sacrifice
Simon:
Sacrifice
Both:
Look me in my eyes
I burn for you
Daphne:
I burn for you
Simon:
I burn…
Daphne:
I burn…
Both:
I burn for you
I burn, I burn….
Say my name
Say I’m yours
Promise we’ll never be oceans apart
Cause I burn for you
You burn for me

And I’m yours
‘Penelope Featherington’, AKA Penelope’s Song
Fan fave Penelope was the next to get her own Bridgerton Musical original song from Abigail and Emily.
Popular renditions of “Penelope’s Song” from Bridgerton Musical:
- This rendition from @chesleeduke
- This rendition from @toritommo
- This rendition from @courtneygovan
You can listen to the song with lyrics here, the instrumental here, and here are the lyrics as transcribed from Abigail’s TikTok:
Never as thin
Never as perfect
Never for him
Never deserving of… the boy I love
Never the star
Always an asteroid
Delicate heart
Forever the last choice of
The one I want
So I keep it all in
It’s like I’m invisible in my own skin
Give up on the fictional fairytale end
You’re not Cinderella, you’re just
Penelope Featherington
A full version was later posted to the Barlow and Bear website here. Here are the lyrics transcribed from the full version:
Never as thin
Never as perfect
Never for him
Never deserving of… the boy I love
Never the star
Always the asteroid
Delicate heart
Forever the last choice of
The one I want
So I keep it all in
It’s like I’m invisible in my own skin
Give up on the fictional fairytale end
You’re not Cinderella, you’re just
Penelope Featherington
Ahhh, ahhh
Never as prim
Never as proper
Never a whim
Never an offer from a Bridgerton
And Colin will never see behind the yellow that covers me
Just an afterthought
So I keep it all in
It’s like I’m invisible in my own skin
Give up on the fictional fairytale end
Forever in yellow
You’re just Penelope Featherington
He would hold my hand
He’d be more than just a friend
If only just someone else would just understand
He’d be like my prince
Steal me with a kiss
But that’s not real life
Never dressed in white
Cuz I’m never as thin
Never as perfect
Never for him
Never deserving of the boy I love
Never the star
Always the asteroid
Delicate heart
Forever the last choice of
The one I want
So I keep it all in
It’s like I’m invisible in my own skin
Give up on the fictional fairytale end
You’re not Cinderella, you’re just
Penelope Featherington
If I Were a Man (Eloise’s Song)
Eloise (another Bridgerton fan favorite) has also gotten the original song treatment from Abigail and Emily, with a fun song called ‘If I Were a Man’.
Popular renditions of “If I Were a Man” from Bridgerton Musical:
- This rendition from @toritommo, who looks like a perfect Eloise
- This rendition from @tik.tok.tina
You can listen to the song with lyrics here, the instrumental here, and here are the lyrics as transcribed from Abigail’s TikTok:
I guess I have to be a lady
Smiling and waving
Constantly obeying
I guess I need a prince
To come and save me
Even if I don’t need saving
Guess I must sit on a throne I don’t own
Raising the babies we made all alone
I guess as a lady there’s just some things I’ll never know…
But if I were a man
I’d go to Japan
Maybe swim in the Seine
And learn to speak French
I’d have the whole world in the palm of my hand
I’d finally do what I could but I can’t
If I were a man
Friend Turned Foe, AKA The Duel
Abigail and Emily released a new song called “Friend Turned Foe” on Tuesday, meant for the Duel scene of Bridgerton, with parts written for Anthony and Simon, along with a Part 2 of the Duel ft. Daphne and Colin as well.
You can listen to Part 1 of the song (ft. Anthony and Simon) with lyrics here, and here are the lyrics as transcribed from Abigail’s TikTok:
Anthony:
The time has come….
My friend turned enemy
There’s no escaping darkness, you should have known
Simon:
I know…
My friend turned foe
At least I’ll die a man
At least I’ll die with honor now
It’s guaranteed there’ll never be an heir
Of my own
So take your best shot, my foe
You can listen to Part 2 of the song (ft. Daphne and Colin) with lyrics here, and here are the lyrics as transcribed from Abigail’s TikTok:
Daphne: [Spoken]
Colin, pray tell me where they went
Colin: [Spoken]
Hastings did a great dishonor on our family name,
Surely you want him to pay.
Daphne: [Spoken]
Not with his life!
Colin: [Spoken]
Leave this to the men!
Women shouldn’t be engaging in such weighty affairs!
Daphne:
All that’s ever said
Again and again
“Leave it to the men!”
To descend into madness
But what if that madness
Is all that I know til the end!
Tell me where they went, Colin
Tell me where they went, brother
The ending could be tragic
My life hangs in the balance
Tell me where they went!
Colin:
Follow me then…
A full version was later posted to the Barlow and Bear website here. Here are the lyrics transcribed from the full version:
Anthony:

Simon:
For what it’s worth
I’m sorry
Anthony:
Your apology means nothing to me
War
Both:
This means war
Say goodbye
Say good – *BANG*
Fool for You (Siena’s Song)
Abigail and Emily released yet another song (they’re spoiling us!) on Wednesday, January 20th – this time a sassy song from Siena’s perspective.
You can listen to the song with lyrics here, and here are the lyrics as transcribed from Abigail’s TikTok:
No! Don’t you try and hold me close
That door is closed now
Go! Go find yourself a girl
Who smells just like a rose
I’m on my own now
I don’t need you
You don’t need me
I can fight my own battles
And I won’t be a fool for you
I won’t be a fool no more
So walk on out that door
Don’t pretend you haven’t done it before
I don’t need your touch
So release me from your clutch
A full demo version was later posted to the Barlow and Bear website here. Here are the lyrics from this version:
No! Don’t you try to hold me close
That door is closed now
Go! Go find yourself a girl
Who smells just like a rose
I’m on my own now
I don’t need you
You don’t need me
I can fight my own battles
And I won’t be a fool for you
I won’t be a fool no more
So walk on out that door
Don’t pretend you haven’t done it before
I don’t need your touch
So release me from your clutch
Balancing the Scale (Violet’s Song)
On Thursday, January 21st, Abigail and Emily posted another song, this time from the POV of Lady Bridgerton herself all about watching her kids grow up and letting them go.
You can listen to the original post of the song with lyrics here, and here are the lyrics as transcribed from Abigail’s TikTok:
Balancing the scales
All my job entails
Making sure that they’re prepared to see the world
Making sure they’re fine on their own
When they’re old and they’re grown
And all I see is shadows…
But that doesn’t make it easier to let them go
I walk past the doors
And the corridors where they grew
And all I feel is emptiness from this emptying nest
Edmund are you there? I was unaware
How difficult it’d be without you there…
A full version of the song was later posted to the Barlow & Bear website here. Here are the lyrics from the full version:
Balancing the scale
All my job entails
Making sure that they’re prepared to see the world
Making sure they’re fine on their own
When they’re old and they’re grown
And all I see is shadows…
But that doesn’t make it easier to let them go
Oooooh
I walk past the doors
And the corridors where they grew
And all I feel is emptiness from this emptying nest
Edmund are you there? I was unaware
How difficult it’d be without you there…
I was unprepared
Balancing the scales
I did the best I could but still I have failed
Still I have failed
Balancing the scales
Want them to see the world but I’m always scared
Balancing the scales
All my job entails
Making sure that they’re prepared to see the world
Making sure they learn
Making sure they’re perfect
Making sure their worth is always something that they know
But it doesn’t make it easier to let them go
Simon’s Vow
While not completely finished, Abigail posted “Simon’s Vow” on January 24, song from Simon to his father. In the TikTok, she asked for others to help her finish the song, so check out the comments section for some brilliant lyric ideas.
You can listen to the song with lyrics here, and here are the lyrics so far as transcribed from Abigail’s TikTok:
Father I do believe you belong below
Up and at em and into the darkness you go
You took the light from me
[Further lyrics TBD]
Opening Number
After teasing the creation process for several days on Instagram Live, Abigail posted the epic opening number to Bridgerton the Musical on January 26th.
You can listen to the song with lyrics here, and here are the lyrics as transcribed from Abigail’s TikTok:
Mothers:
Tis the season!
It’s a season for elegant ladies!
Reputations dictated by the queen!
Must be perfectly perfect
Must meet every expectation
May god save all our souls!
Lady Whistledown [spoken]:
Grosvenor Square, 1813
Dearest reader,
The time has come to place our bets
for the upcoming social season!
Consider the household of the Baron Featherington
3 misses foisted upon the marriage market
Like sorrowful sows by their tasteless and tactless Mama
Penelope:
Is she to breathe mama?
Lady Featherington:
When I was your age I could fit my waist into an orange and a half and so shall you!
Tighter.
Prudence:
Tighter?!
[welps of pain]
The Ruse
February kicked off on a high note for Bridgerton the Musical, when Abigail posted a new song on her TikTok account entitled “The Ruse”, which depicts the important Bridgerton scene where Simon and Daphne mastermind their ‘elaborate ruse’ that sets up the main storyline for Season 1.
You can listen to the song with lyrics here, and here are the lyrics as transcribed from Abigail’s TikTok:
Simon:
Maybe there’s another way
Another role to play here
To keep the press and the desperate mothers at bay
We can change the story
What do you say?
Daphne:
What are you suggesting, your Grace?
Simon:
We convince them there’s a flame between us
Daphne:
Between us?
Simon:
And you will be the diamond of the season once again
Daphne:
And you’ll have reinstated your freedom
Simon:
We can convince them there’s a flame
That since we met our hearts were set ablaze
And we will be exactly what they say we are
Me. Unavailable. You? Desirable.
“Alone Together”
On Feb 5, Abigail posted a new song called “Alone Together” which takes place during the scene when Simon and Daphne are alone in the gallery looking at paintings together… you know, when their hands just *almost* touch.
This one is SO GOOD and one of our favorites by far. In a separate TikTok uploaded a few hours after, even Abigail said it was the best song she’s ever written… period. So definitely give it a listen.
You can listen to the chorus of the song with lyrics here, and here are the lyrics as transcribed from Abigail’s TikTok:
Simon:
Alone Together
Daphne and Simon:
Something is different than it was before
It was so innocent
Now that it’s intimate
I want more
Daphne:
In a perfect version of us
Simon:
In a perfect version of us
Daphne:
He’d be the artist and I’d be the brush
Simon:
I’d be the artist and…
Daphne and Simon:
We could escape
Into the painting
Colored in green
And gilded in gold!
When we’re alone together
I lose control whenever
Our feelings unfold
The stories we told
When we’re alone together
When we’re alone together
I wish you were mine!
Shortly after, Abigail posted another part of the song, which you can listen to here, and here are the lyrics as transcribed from Abigail’s TikTok:
Simon:
Alone together
Daphne:
Alone together
Simon:
In the gallery
And she’s just out of reach
Daphne:
Alone together
And just for a moment
Feels like I’ll never be alone again
I’ll never be alone again
Simon:
Whenever she’s close
Wherever she goes
I wanna be near
Daphne:
The deal was proposed
But I didn’t know
Just how I’d feel
Put together, these two parts of the song can be heard in their entirety on the Barlow & Bear website here. Here are the full lyrics in the correct order:
Simon:
Alone together
Daphne:
Alone together
Simon:
In the gallery
And she’s just out of reach
Daphne:
Alone together
And just for a moment
Feels like I’ll never be alone again
I’ll never be alone again
Simon:
Whenever she’s close
Wherever she goes
I wanna be near
Daphne:
The deal was proposed
But I didn’t know
Just how I’d feel
Simon:
Alone Together
Daphne and Simon:
Something is different than it was before
It was so innocent
Now that it’s intimate
I want more
Daphne:
In a perfect version of us
Simon:
In a perfect version of us
Daphne:

Simon:
I’d be the artist and…
Daphne and Simon:
We could escape
Into the painting
Colored in green
And gilded in gold!
When we’re alone together
I lose control whenever
Our feelings unfold
The stories we told
When we’re alone together
When we’re alone together
I wish you were mine!
Daphne:
We should go.
Simon:
Right.
“Entertain Me” (The Queen’s Song)
Iconic Queen Charlotte was one of our favorites in Bridgerton, so we were very excited when Abigail posted a new song featuring the Queen herself.
You can listen to the song with lyrics here, and here are the lyrics as transcribed from Abigail’s TikTok:
Queen Charlotte:
I have everything I need
But nothing that I want
That’s not good enough! Is that the best you’ve got?
Bring me mimes and fire eaters and trapezes from the ceiling
And if you tell a joke, and I’m still not amused
You’re through
Entertainers:
Your majesty, look here
I can make a rabbit disappear
I can balance on a sphere
I can put my legs behind my head
Queen Charlotte:
Do that again and you’ll be dead
All the rest of you
Bite your tongue
Hold your breath
Cuz I’m the most valuable guest!
Entertain! Entertain!
That was good. Wasn’t great
Entertain! Entertain!
Where’s my snuff? Where’s my fluff?
Servant:
Your majesty it’s right there on the tray
Queen:
Oh. You! Bring me my silver spoon
A full version of the song was later posted to the Barlow & Bear website here. Here are the lyrics from the full version:
Queen Charlotte:
I have everything I need
But nothing that I want
That’s not good enough! Is that the best you’ve got?

Servant:
Your majesty it’s right there on the tray
Queen:
Oh. You! Bring me my silver spoon
And while you’re at it
Prepare a goose
And tell the baker that the Queen wants pudding too
Why do you look confused?
Chop chop
Servant: (spoken)
Your majesty… it’s the king
Queen Charlotte: (spoken)
Is he dead?
Servant: (spoken)
Lucid, Ma’am.
Queen Charlotte: (spoken)
Then bring me to him.
Your majesty…
King: (spoken)
No need for formalities, Lottie…
Come, sit with me. How is little George?
Queen Charlotte: (spoken)
He’s not so little anymore…
Your subjects miss you, my dear. I miss you
(singing)
I miss the blue bells… they’re in full blom
Walking hand in hand
King:
I remember when you said we’re dancing in the clouds, strolling through the grounds,
Talking for hours
Queen:
We were dancing
In the flowers
King: (spoken)
Oh I forgot to ask: how is dear Amelia?
Queen: (spoken)
George, Amelia was ill
Several years ago
King: (spoken)
She came to my room but a fortnight ago
Did you not see her?
Queen: (spoken)
George, Amelia is dead
King: (spoken)
Have you done something?
What have you done to my child?
You come back here!
This woman killed my child!
Queen:
Entertain! Entertain!
Bring me all my vices something that will take away the pain
Entertain! I’m dismayed
I’m not crazy but my sanity is circling the drain
Ensemble:
She’s not living, just surviving
Her sanity is circling the drain
Queen:
You’re living, just surviving
No one’s listening
Watching as I slowly go insane
Entertain me, enterain me…
Servant:
Your majesty…
Queen:
What?
Servant:
The latest Whistledown.
Queen:
Hm. That’ll do.
“Every Inch” (Daphne and Simon’s Honeymoon in the Rain)
You can listen to the song with lyrics here, an instrumental version here, and here are the lyrics as transcribed from Abigail’s TikTok:
Daphne:
He is grace
He is beauty
What a face
I could lose myself
In his embrace
He’s an absolute work of art
His heart is beating just for me
I can hardly breathe
Fell down, down the well
Under his spell
He’s a feeling that I’ve never felt!
He’s the sun
He’s the moon
He’s the roses in full bloom
And they’ll bloom forever more
I have been waiting for
Someone like him
Something like this
I’m in love with him…. every inch of him
A full version of the song was later posted to the Barlow & Bear website here, including Simon’s part. Here are the lyrics from the full version:
Simon: (spoken)
I’m taking you somewhere…
Daphne: (spoken)
Where are we going? Tell me!
Simon: (spoken)
You worry too much! You’ll see
Simon:
She is night
She is music
She is mine
I could lose myself in her eyes
There’s an ocean deep and wide
And I’m being pulled by the tide
She’s a melody
She’s a muse
She’s a remedy to the blues
She’s a feeling I never knew
She is night
She is day
She is sunlight
She is rain
I say let it pour
I have been waiting for
Someone like her
Something like this
I’m in love with you
Every inch of you
Daphne:
He is grace
He is beauty
What a face
I could lose myself
In his embrace
He’s an absolute work of art
His heart is beating just for me
I can hardly breathe
Fell down, down the well
Under his spell
He’s a feeling that I’ve never felt!
He’s the sun
He’s the moon
He’s the roses in full bloom
And they’ll bloom forever more
I have been waiting for
Someone like him
Something like this
I’m in love with him…. every inch of him
Every inch every inch every inch of you
Simon:
Every inch every inch every inch of you
I’m in love with you
Every inch of you
Daphne:
Every inch
