Admit it, when the Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring film first came out, you had a crush on Legolas the elf, right?

Just us? Well, no shame because Orlando Bloom made the bow-wielding elf the sexiest man with long luscious locks we’d seen in a while. While he may have been inserted into the Hobbit films a bit oddly we weren’t complaining, since we got to see the eye candy again.

But there’s more to Legolas Greenleaf than just being pretty, and good with a bow. His loyalty, friendship and amusing banter with Gimli the dwarf are just part of what made the character so lovable, along with his memorable lines.

We’ve rounded up all the best Legolas quotes here today, so you can remember why you first fell in love with the Prince of the Woodland Realm!

The Best Legolas Exposition Quotes

Look, we love Legolas, like, a lot, but has anyone else ever noticed that a lot of his lines seem to be just explaining things to other characters/the audience? Obviously he’s a lot older than he looks, so he’s gained a fair amount of wisdom, but sometimes it seems like he just has quotes that provide background information (especially for those who haven’t read the books). These are our favorite Legolas exposition lines, where he explains things while looking pretty.
